Tell Me To Shut Up
You are in my heart every day.
There are so many things to say.
Yet perhaps I speak too much...
too abstractly, personal and such.
A big problem with me is drive,
and what I need to feel alive.
I need to say what I do feel,
so heart with mind can seal...
so my conscience can be real...
so my imperfect soul will heal.
What I say to you is often tender,
the risk a spiritual provender.
But perhaps too hard I'm trying...
these issues to you just crying.
If so, I'm sorry, but I mean well.
And there's so much more to tell.
In heart, mind, and soul are you,
and I promise always to be true.
If I try too hard please forgive me.
Your very existence gives me glee.
So tell me to shut up.
