Meditation Contemplation
Too much everywhere,
when scheduled fare
fills each and every moment.
Too many thoughts are caught
when what we are taught, we ought...
striving “forward” every minute.
Sometimes I feel a need to sit
so more of my experiences will fit.
Fitting within, being some framework,
are ideas about duties I won’t shirk.
To perceive real beauties,
I must know what makes sense
to remember, keep present tense.
Simplicity helps, as consistency...
but life requires a persistency
to allow realities their own detail.
Ungroomed, our perception can fail.
If we have no mental sense,
no feeling of space,
we lose spiritual recompense
for experience we face...
because we forget.
How can we let
so much, so much everywhere,
crowd our minds out of control?
Can anyone absorb everything
that at us the media fling?
...or that we might see? or hear?
What about things we can fear?
Our mind needs to be sorted,
so new ideas will not be aborted
because there is no extra space.
Such strain shows on each face.
Such minds have too much
personal values don’t touch,
so perception goes slowly under.
In a race to grow, we can blunder
by stacking all thoughts in a bin
and forgetting coherency to win
were we to clean mental house.
I like to sit like a mouse...
quiet, watchful, reflective.
Analysis in the most subjective,
with framework, stress sedating,
is the value of contemplating...
valuing sense found perceiving
what values we be by receiving.
