I Want To Amaze Me

Why I push so hard I can tell
though I cannot explain it well:
obligations outpace achievement.

For myself's almost bereavement
I've not gotten where I should be.
Talents and skills, abilities
should've created the agilities
to've hurdled all the fences.

I've often preoccupied senses;
wallowed in sentiment romances;
disallowed opportune chances;
spent time with useless friends;
and with faults not made amends.

Now I look to receive as life sends
only in part of my obligations.
I want to disallow negations,
know no "nay"s... myself to amaze!
