Decide Our Own Law
Our comfort is worth note
like a warm friendly coat
protecting us from weather
yet feels light as a feather.
I am persuaded by this alone
our fondness is deep as bone
and we could easily satisfy
dreams life should gratify.
But will we? And what then?
Are we free? Have we the yen?
To be together we must fight
and be sure that we're right
so no hindrance is an obstacle
and our joy becomes a spectacle.
Do we have the strength of mind
to do so and still be kind...
or should we do so anyway
and ignore what others say?
Our union would require will
and mutual determination until
everyone who matters saw
we've decided our own law.
If we're consistent and true
and give some rules their due
no one would worry about us
especially if we cause no fuss.
But we must decide, not cheat
or our trustworthiness it'd defeat.
I want everything or none at all
because less is heading for a fall.
Only 100% can you be mine...
and committed I'll be thine.
If not, have a nice life;
If so, imagine being my wife!
