Be Assured

You've distracted me from work
because curiosity I can't shirk
about our possible connection.
My sudden feelings' correction
can only be won as truth's dealt.

So natural holding you felt
I'm perhaps simply spell-bound
and need interaction so to ground
my emotions with the reality
of our likely diverse duality.

But it seemed you saw me clear,
and such openness'd be dear
in that you may've capacity
to appreciate complex veracity.

Only real relating do I seek
(yet most eventually freak
if they themselves're known
too well by what they've shown
so most are not truly open.)
and for relating I'm hopin'
that can be mature and free.

I've high expectations for me
and no wish these to compromise
only for contact to realize.
But though to myself I've kept,
very badly I've often slept
for needing an intimate peer.

With you the only thing I fear
is if I accidentally offend you.
Be assured compliments're due
for what of spirit I perceive
of your capacity to receive
truth and life's complications.

But let's also share elations!
